FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kansas City, Missouri, June 6, 2017
Bambou Salon & Spa will acquire the Blue Springs based Queen Bee Salon effective June 12, 2017. Queen Bee was established in 2014 and provides high quality beauty services from the Adams Dairy Landing mall location at 467 NE Coronado Drive.
Bambou owner, Sean Barnard, stated that the addition of Queen Bee fits perfectly into the strategic growth of the company; “I could not have been luckier to have met the current owners, who quite frankly are two of the nicest people. They have built a reputation for exceptional service, great products, and have a wonderful team located in the heart of the vibrant Adams Dairy Landing Mall in Blue Springs”.
Changes will be few, Barnard continued; “We will rebrand the salon to Bambou Salon Blue Springs, but for me the most important assets – our highly-trained stylists and front desk team – will remain the same and become a valuable part of the Bambou family.”
Bambou expects to announce further acquisitions. “We have determined that the Midwest supports and prefers businesses that are locally owned and operated. We want to keep within the Kansas City metro and establish a reputation for high standards, training, service and quality. We plan to expand Bambou Salons & Spas to five locations over the next three years, but we will also only pursue opportunities that will support and excel our brand.”
Bambou Salons & Spas, is a Kansas City, MO based brand established in 2016. The company owns and operates Bambou Salon & Spa in Downtown Overland Park, Kansas, formerly the International Hair & Day Spa.
Wow.
Sincerely hope the prices, stylists and quality of service doesn’t change. Blue Springs is not Overland Park.
We love Queen Bee and all the stylists .

Hi Karin!
Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us and share your love for Queen Bee and your concerns. We are absolutely sensitive to the needs and expectations of our guests and our stylists, and will extend that care to Blue Springs and Queen Bee. We are excited to invest in the location, and will be bringing some changes, but only those that benefit the stylists and our guests.
We are so impressed with the quality and standards of the current Queen Bee team, which is why we have made this investment. We also appreciate the differences in locations and will do everything we can do respect those. As we move forward, please keep us honest and feel free to share your concerns at any time with our owner Sean at [email protected].
I’ve always enjoyed coming into Queen Bee Salon because of the atmosphere and the ladies that work there. I loved it because it was like a getaway, somewhere to relax. When I recently went into the salon and saw the new design I was in shock. The color choice is most definitely not soothing and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I usually did. I’ve been coming to Queen Bee since they opened, I’m sad to see all of this new change.
Hi Kenzie – We are sad to hear that our changes have caused some discomfort with your experience at the salon. We hope you’ll be offer us some patience during the changes, and maybe the final product will surprise you. We appreciate that change is not always easy, which is why we’re working closely with our new team to make sure we aren’t impacting their ability to continue providing their exceptional level of service. As we move forward, please keep us honest and feel free to share your concerns at any time with our owner Sean at [email protected].
