Kansas City based Bambou Salons & Spa in Downtown Overland will move from its current location to the former Overland Park State Bank at 7341 W 80th Street in Fall 2017.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Kansas City, Missouri, July 17, 2017

Bambou Salons & Spas announced today a definitive agreement to relocate its current location but remain in historic Downtown Overland Park. The salon will move just 300 feet to the former Overland Park State Bank located at 7341 W 80th Street, which originally opened its doors in 1911 making it one of the first buildings in Downtown Overland Park.

Sean Barnard, owner of Bambou Salons & Spas stated: “This is a significant and exciting move for us. We have been working with our landlord and the downtown Overland Park community to find the perfect location. We are delighted to have been entrusted with the opportunity to make this historical landmark our new home.” Renovation plans are being developed with Edison Factory, owners of the former bank, exposing original features that have been hidden for decades.

Said Barnard, “I believe that we have an obligation to pay respect to this gem of a building and do what we can to respect the beauty we have uncovered. When removing a section of the false ceiling for instance, we discovered the original plasterwork. We will expose that for our guests to see and enjoy”, adding “We are creating our flagship salon and spa in this wonderful city that is reinventing itself as a vibrant community. There is a remarkable mix of new life with new businesses and homes coming online, alongside a traditional lifestyle that includes the market and independent stores. Bambou is very proud to be a part of this growth.”

Bambou’s present location is a part of the redevelopment taking place in Downtown Overland Park, says Barnard, “Choices for relocation weren’t easy to find, we were nervous to be honest. We needed a setting that fit our brand, is well positioned with parking, and is big enough to be home to a full-service salon and spa”.

Barnard was please to add, “Working with Matt Druten of Edison Factory, our current and future landlords, Kate Sweeten with the Downtown Overland Park Partnership and Tracey Osborne and Tim Holverson with the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce, we were given options and ultimately made a good business decision. The support we have had from everyone is amazing.”

Bambou Salon & Spa, Overland Park was established in 2016 and provides hair, nail and esthetician services, with internationally renowned retail and service products. The new Bambou Salon & Spa Downtown OP is scheduled to open its doors in late October this year. Bambou Salons & Spas also owns a location in Blue Springs, Missouri and plans additional locations.
