Kansas City Based Bambou Salons & Spas has successfully completed the acquisition of Encounters Day Spa, located at 11156 Antioch in Overland Park, Kansas. The location will be rebranded as Bambou Salon & Spa at Antioch & College, which will be completed during the Fall of 2018.

Bambou Salons & Spas LLC has successfully completed the acquisition of Encounters Salon & Day Spa, located at 11156 Antioch Road in Overland Park, KS. The new location is the third salon for the Kansas City brand, joining Bambou Salon & Spa in Downtown Overland Park and Bambou Salon in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Sean Barnard, owner of Bambou, is confident about the addition of the Encounters salon. “I am really proud to have been able to add this location to our portfolio,” he says, “we gain a professionally trained team of 12 stylists and can offer a wider range of salon, esthetician and nail services to our client base.”
Encounters is expected to be re-branded as Bambou Salon & Spa at Antioch & College in the fall with a robust marketing program, new fixtures, signage and a more appealing layout. “Our team knows how to maximize the comfort and appeal to make the experience consistently better than our competitors,” Barnard added, “we are relentless in our passion to build a team that loves coming to work every day and proving to our guests that we deserve their business.”
Bambou Salons will introduce their signature Bambou Rewards program and New Guest and Guest Referral programs. The Encounters website will be directed to the BambouSalons.com site immediately.
In addition to the announcement of the new salon, Barnard shared the promotion of one of Encounters senior stylists. “Today we named Andrea Bengimina Master Educator for our new Antioch & College location,” Barnard shared, “Andrea has been with Encounters for over 30 years and is passionate about training and developing talent with the Keune brand of products.“
Barnard says she will be working to grow the team with the support of Master Stylists, Debra Bukaty, Barbara Loumaster and Gabriel LaRose. He added, “there are few salons that can offer the level of professional development our Master Stylists can and we will enjoy seeing the existing team flourish and new graduates join us.”
