The last year has been another busy, and thankfully very successful year for Bambou Salons & Spas. Although we had planned for additional locations, the focus turned to fine tuning our current salons and staying committed to creating the perfect environment for our guests and our Team Members.
With a completely new look for our location at Antioch and College, we also added new SalonPro Orbiting Halo infrared hair color processors. These smart dryers accelerate the process while retaining moisture and reducing frizz.
These have been such a ‘hit’ with our guests, we ordered them for our Downtown Overland Park and Blue Springs locations and will introduce them just as soon as they arrive. These great dryers also mean a much shorter appointment time for our guests – and who doesn’t love that?
In the summer, we introduced our own private label of candles, shower gels, bath salts, bubble bath and more. Bambou Private Label is now available in all our locations and we can barely keep up with the demand! For our frequent guests, we have also started to offer your choice of Bambou Private Label products in the month of your birthday. No gimmicks, no purchase necessary, just a happy birthday from us to say thank you for your loyalty!
Bambou Salons has also found more than just a few minutes of fame in 2019! In addition to being voted a finalist for the Pitch magazine’s Best of KC, we were also chosen as the official makeup and styling salon brand for the KCTV5 news team and local luxury brand, Tivol jewelers.
2019 was also a year to give back to our community. We received dozens of requests for support from local schools, churches, and qualified non-profits. I’m proud to say that the answer was “Yes” to everyone who asked. All together, we supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cops for Kids, AIDS Walk Kansas City, and Boys & Girls Clubs, as well as sponsored the Suicide Awareness and Prevention Group, Stonewall Sports, the Folly Theater, and Rightfully Sewn, an amazing fashion-focused, charitable organization that provides seamstress training for at-risk women.
Supporting our community goes beyond writing checks though and I am very proud to serve as Vice President for the Folly’s Board of Directors and also on the Board of Directors for the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce.
At the end of the day though, it’s all about running a good business as a team. We live by our Core Values that are on display at every salon – and they apply to all of us. We promise Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Support and Standards for our guests and each other.
I cannot begin to thank enough our incredibly talented stylists for all they do to be the very best, our salon managers for keeping us all on track, and my support staff and marketing team. But most importantly, I want to thank our guests for another great year.
It is truly a privilege to earn your business and we will see you in 2020!
