Bambou Acquires Fifth Location, on the Country Club Plaza

Kansas City based Bambou Salons & Spas has announced its intention to acquire and rebrand The Parlor: A Beauty Bar as Bambou Salon Country Club Plaza. The location will become Bambou’s fifth in the Kansas City metro and first in Kansas City, Missouri.

Thursday, September 17th, 2020, Kansas City, Missouri // Bambou Salons has finalized its plan to acquire The Parlor: A Beauty Bar, located at 608 W 48th St, Kansas City, MO 64112, effective September 28th, 2020 and subject to State Board of Cosmetology approval. The location will  transition into a full service hair salon and will be known as Bambou Salon Country Club Plaza. This fifth acquisition makes Bambou Salons one of the largest privately owned beauty salon companies in the Midwest, and comes less than a month after the purchase of Bambou Salon Lenexa.

“We are so grateful and proud of all the hard work and success we have experienced over the last four years” says Sean Barnard, Owner and Creator of Bambou Salons, “but we have always felt like we were missing out on something special by not being in Kansas City proper.” Barnard continues, “Being on the Plaza means we hold a premiere spot in the Kansas City scene. We open our business to a whole new area and demographic surrounded by a unique blend of residential, retail, office and hotel guests.”

The Parlor is currently owned by Meg Haas and only offers blowout services. Bambou has already made clear he hopes to retain all current employees as he transitions to a full service salon, which will include cuts and color services. Current Parlor employee Ryan LaFave will be promoted to Salon Lead, and the location will be overseen by Bambou’s Regional Manager Debbie Linder.

“Meg has tapped into a really underserved market on the Plaza,” says Barnard, “with so many commercial buildings and hotels, there is a real demand for quick access to professional stylists and beauty services.” He continues, “to help meet that demand, this will be our first location with early morning hours to capture and serve the professional woman on her way to work.”

All Parlor customers will be welcomed to the new Bambou Salon Country Club Plaza as new guests and therefore eligible for Bambou’s New Guest program, discounts and promotions. Beauty products KEVIN.MURPHY, Eleven Australia, and the company’s own Bambou Private Label will now be offered at the salon.

During the next month, Bambou Salons & Spas will be making updates to the location itself, as well as updating all its digital real estate including Facebook, Instagram, Google Business, Yelp, and its website.

Bambou Salons & Spas was founded in 2016 and currently owns and operates four full-service beauty salons located in Blue Springs, Missouri, and Overland Park and Lenexa, Kansas.
